    NEW YORK  - Boxed.com, the online wholesale shopping club with no membership fees, on Thursday named former Sam's Club executive Heather Mayo the company's chief merchandising officer.  Mayo will lead the development and execution of all merchandising strategies and initiatives, and will be responsible for delivering the optimal product assortment as dictated by the brand's strategy and unique target customer profile.

  • Sam's Club introduces scan-and-go shopping solution

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Sam’s Club on Wednesday announced the launch of its Scan & Go mobile app, a free app that allows members to use their smartphone to completely bypass the checkout lane at any Sam’s Club nationwide.

    The Scan & Go app allows Sam’s Club members to scan as they go, pay from their phone, then simply show a digital receipt as they leave. For those mindful of holiday budgets, the new app also allows users to easily track spending throughout their trip.

  • Sam's Club CEO shares snapshot of retail beginnings



    BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Sam's Club CEO Rosalind Brewer discusses learnings from her first job in a brief video posted to the company's YouTube channel Wednesday.

    Brewer got her start in retail at a men's boutique in downtown Detroit, she said. "That job taught me a lot," she shared. "It taught me about discipline, about being punctual [and] integrity."

  • Sam's Club supports women's health with free “Support Her Health” screenings

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. – While men are well known for avoiding the doctor, a recent survey found that 82% of women say they would rather do all of their family’s grocery shopping than go to the doctor.

    To help encourage women to prioritize their health and to offer them a convenient way to do so, Sam’s Club is hosting free health screenings on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    The board brings together law enforcement, education, legal and retail experts to advise Corrective Education Company’s leadership team.

  • Report: Amazon Prime taking members away from Costco, Sam's Club

    New research from Cowen & Co. indicates that more U.S. households are joining Amazon's Prime program and canceling their Costco and Sam's Club memberships.

    According to data published by Cowen & Co. on Monday, the percentage of U.S. households that pay for Prime membership only has more than doubled over the past four years, from 7.1% in 2013 to 16.2% in 2016. In the same time span, housholds that use either Costco (from 14.9% to 9.8%) and Sam's Club only (from 16.9% to 9.7%) dropped noticeably.
