  • Zicam introduces Cold Remedy Plus line

    PHOENIX Matrixx Initiatives recently introduced a new line of Zicam products — Cold Remedy Plus, a multi-ingredient formulation that both reduces the duration of the common cold and helps relieve the symptoms of someone who already has a cold.

    The Cold Remedy Plus products, cherry-flavored Liqui-Loz and cherry-flavored Zavors, retail for a suggested $11.59. Two mint flavors — including a rapid melt and oral mist — will launch in the fall.

  • AccuDial to roll out dosing system

    PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. AccuDial Pharmaceutical recently shared plans to launch its line of patented dosing systems in the United States this fall. The system features an accurate dosing spoon, coupled with weight-based dosing recommendations, as opposed to age-based dosing recommendations found on many kids' product labels today.

     

  • New no-touch thermometer to hit store shelves this summer

    BUFFALO, N.Y. American Scientific Resources plans to launch a premium thermometer — the Kidz+Med NeverTouch 5-in-1 — beginning Aug. 1.

     

    The no-touch thermometer allows mom to take her child’s temperature without waking them if their asleep. Other uses include determining the temperature of a feeding bottle, bath water or even an ambient temperature. The company is planning a $1.5 million consumer ad spend this fall, reaching consumers on all three major networks as well as Bravo and the Weather Channel.

  • Take Care Clinics adds camp, sports physicals to offerings

    CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. Take Care Health Systems, which is owned by Walgreens, has announced that it now is offering camp and sports physicals at all Take Care Clinics nationwide.

    The clinics, located within nearly 360 Walgreens stores nationwide, are offering physicals for $35 through the end of September. The physicals are administered by nurse practitioners and, in select markets, physician assistants.

    WASHINGTON The vast majority of nurse practitioners are actively recommending dietary supplements to their patients, the CRN Foundation, an educational affiliate of the Council for Responsible Nutrition, announced Wednesday.

  • RediClinic offering Latisse consultations

    HOUSTON RediClinic, which operates 22 retail health clinics inside select H-E-B stores in the Greater Houston and Austin area, now is offering Latisse, an FDA-approved prescription treatment to grow lashes.

    Latisse is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes. Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for not having enough eyelashes or eyelashes that are inadequate. The topical solution must be applied each night on the skin of the upper eyelid margins at the base of the eyelashes. Results are gradual and peak after 12 to 16 weeks.
