The CRN Foundation has relaunched its Vitamin D & Me! website as an educational site for consumers to learn about the broad importance of vitamin D in health and wellness.

Previously, the original purpose of the site was a source of information on vitamin D in relationship to COVID-19 and immune health. The website was launched in May 2021 during the height of the COVID pandemic as a public education site on the nutrient, providing research, news and health information.

For the past three years, the Vitamin D & Me! platform has allowed people to access the latest research, interviews and educational content on vitamin D and COVID-19. The site summarized more than 100 studies, clinical trials and meta-analyses examining the relationship between vitamin and COVID-19.  Traditional and social media strategies raised awareness of the VD&M site, along with engagements with Shopping for Health (retail dietitians), and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Food & Nutrition Conference and Expo.

The program also received recognition by NutraIngredients-USA as the Best Industry Initiative of the Year.

“The Vitamin D & Me! site proved to be a vital resource for consumers and dietitians to learn about the important role of vitamin D and immune health over the past few years, including the large amount of research being conducted and published on vitamin D and COVID-19,” said Luke Huber, vice president, scientific and regulatory affairs at CRN. “With shifting public health priorities, and the growing body of evidence for other vitamin D benefits, this is an opportunity to expand the scope of the site to describe the broad role of vitamin D in health and wellness to consumers and healthcare professionals.”

The scientifically supported content for the VD&M site was developed by CRN member company Nutrasource, a nutraceutical and pharmaceutical life sciences services company. The website was designed and developed by the management and technology consulting firm Aspirant. Access the site here
