Hamacher Resource Group certifies 13 merchandisers for Drogueria Betances

WAUKESHA, Wis. — Hamacher Resource Group has trained and certified 13 merchandisers for Puerto Rican drug wholesaler Drogueria Betances, the company announced Wednesday. The merchandisers completed an extensive, multi-module training program over the course of several months, earning certification from HRG experts.

“It was exciting to be present and see the enthusiasm surrounding this new undertaking from both the Drogueria Betances merchandisers and the pharmacists,” HRG VP strategic relations Dave Wendland said. “There continues to be unrealized potential in the front-end of independents, and I admire Betances’ commitment to helping these stores realize that opportunity. They have been a wonderful partner in the launch of this and the category management program, and we look forward to our ongoing working relationship.”

HRG’s 15-hour Hamacher Merchandiser Certification program included three training webcasts from HRG analysts and a full-day certification test. The program emphasized the importance of following planograms and stocking the proper assortment, with an additional focus on merchandisers working with pharmacists to convey the sales potential of a well merchandised front-end.

“Based on the success we’ve had with category management services from HRG, we wanted to find additional ways to enhance our ability to further deliver value to community pharmacies,” Drogueria Betances VP finance and administration Juan Hernandez said. “Those stores that have been following the HRG category management program have seen an improvement in sales, some up to 20% in the short time it’s been in use. We feel the implementation of the program by Hamacher-certified merchandisers will advance these types of results for more stores.”
