Trumm Drug named Health Mart Pharmacy of the Year
Trumm Drug, a Health Mart pharmacy in Alexandria, Minn. has been named the Health Mart Pharmacy of the Year. The designation is awarded to top-performing Health Mart pharmacies for superior clinical performance, high-touch patient relationships and proactive advocacy efforts.
Trumm Drug owners Aaron Finley, and Allan Fettig, will accept the award during McKesson ideaShare on June 28 in Orlando, Fla.
Serving downtown Alexandria since 1951, Trumm family pharmacies grew from one pharmacy to six locations across southwest Minnesota. In April 2018, Trumm Drug was purchased by Aaron and Allan, two long-time staff pharmacists with the help of McKesson RxOwnership consultants. All three former Trumm family owners continue to work in the pharmacies and mentor the new owners, who are continuing Trumm’s strong traditions of community involvement and quality patient care.
“Aaron and I have both worked at Trumm Drug for more than 10 years, so when we looked at taking ownership, it was very important that customers knew they’d be able to walk in and see the same faces and get the same care,” said Fettig. “We are part of this community with our families and look forward to providing the best care with the same commitment that drove the Trumm family success over the past 70 years.”
Trumm Drug has enrolled more than 1,200 patients in its medication synchronization program, which has increased its clinical ranking across a number of categories. According to the new owners, much of the pharmacy’s ongoing success is due to proactively implementing many of the Health Mart clinical and business performance solutions, including marketing tools from the Health Mart Marketing Hub – an online resource providing custom marketing templates.
“For nearly 70 years, Trumm Drug has been providing health solutions to the community of Alexandria, offering programs for diabetes care, specialty care, durable medical goods and a year-round vaccination program. To be able to provide care that is truly holistic and perform at the highest quality levels from a clinical standpoint exemplifies the best of community pharmacy,” said Health Mart president Nimesh Jhaveri. “I am proud to recognize Trumm Drug for its achievements and look forward to recognizing the pharmacy as a leader among its peers.”
Health Mart also recognized six pharmacies for exceptional patient care, operational innovation and outstanding contributions to their communities:
