Mylan launches generic Lescol XL

PITTSBURGH — Mylan on Friday launched its generic version of Lescol XL (fluvastatin sodium) extended-release tablets. The drug, which is intended to treat patients with high cholesterol in combination with diet and exercise, will be available in 80-mg tablets.

According to IMS Health, the drug had U.S. sales of about $37.6 million for the 12 months ending June 30.
