Report: Baylor Scott & White Health looking to partner with retail-based clinics in Texas

7/16/2014

NEW YORK — Baylor Scott & White Health, a Dallas-based healthcare system, is reportedly looking to ink an affiliation with retail-based health clinics inside select Walgreens and Walmart locations, the Dallas Morning News has reported.

The report comes as CVS Caremark announced on Wednesday that it has entered into new clinical affiliations with four healthcare providers, including Texas Health Resources in Texas.

According to the news article, physicians affiliated with Baylor will oversee clinics within 13 area Walgreens — a number that could grow to 28, the article stated.

Baylor is reportedly working on a similar deal with Wal-Mart in North and Central Texas, where the retailer is running a pilot program of Wal-Mart-owned clinics in a handful of Texas stores.
