Kroger embarks on hiring spree

Kroger is in hiring mode. The company is seeking to hire salaried and hourly associates across all geographies, searching for talent in retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, supply chain, merchandising, logistics, corporate, pharmacy, healthcare and more.

The company's work to create a place where all associates can thrive will accelerate following the close of its proposed merger with Albertsons. As one of the largest unionized workforces in the country, the combined company will offer even more opportunities for associates to grow their careers. It also will continue raising wages and improving comprehensive benefits, including $1 billion already committed post-close, the company said.

Wages & Benefits: Kroger provides comprehensive compensation packages, including competitive salaries and wages, health care and retirement. Kroger has invested an incremental $1.9 billion in associate compensation and benefits since 2018, raising the average hourly rate to $18/hour and $23.50/hour, including comprehensive benefits.

Continued Education & Tuition Reimbursement: The Kroger tuition reimbursement program offers up to $21,000 for both part-time and full-time associates to pursue their chosen educational opportunities. Since its inception, this program has contributed more than $31.2 million to empower associates at Kroger further their education, with 87% of the recipients being store associates.

Training & Development: Kroger offers on-demand, role-specific training and resources through internal channels and modern learning platforms, as well as leadership, career advancement and diversity, equity and inclusion training.

Health & Wellness: Kroger continues to support associates' safety, health and well-being. Associates have access to resources like The Well-Being Assistant powered by Magellan Health, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and offers free counseling sessions and BetterHelp virtual counseling. The organization also encourages using Whil, a wellness platform that enables activities like mindfulness, yoga and sleep.
