Kenvue is affirming its commitment to its Healthy Lives Mission, the company’s environmental, social and governance strategy, designed to advance the well-being of both people and planet. 

The company plans to share progress towards its goals and commitments in its inaugural Healthy Lives Mission Report in June 2024.

“Consumers are increasingly prioritizing sustainability, looking for solutions that are healthier for their families and better for the planet,” said Pamela Gill-Alabaster, global head of ESG and sustainability. “Our Healthy Lives Mission is focused on nine priority topics for which we have set goals and commitments to hold us accountable for progress and help drive impact in the areas where we are positioned to make a difference for both people and planet.”

The Healthy Lives Mission aims to build lasting positive change for people, communities and the planet through three pillars:

Healthy People: Kenvue aims to advance the well-being of the communities in which the company operates and equips them with innovative products and actionable information to make healthier decisions every day.

Healthy Planet: Kenvue strives to enrich a healthy planet by making responsible and renewable choices to help safeguard the earth’s health and resources while managing the impacts the company creates.

Healthy Practice: Kenvue believes in promoting a culture of integrity, ethics and transparency to build trust and create meaningful, long-term value.

In support of these pillars, Kenvue set the following 19 goals and commitments:

Healthy People Goals & Commitments

Diversity, equity & inclusion

  • Strengthen the representation of women at all management levels to reflect the markets in which it operates
  • Strengthen ethnic representation within its U.S. workforce at all management levels to reflect the markets in which it operates
  • Pay all Kenvuers equitably based on role, experience, market competitiveness and performance
  • Achieve a company-wide Inclusion Index Score in the top quartile

Public health

  • Advance community health and well-being by fostering a culture of caring through volunteerism
  • Help restore the dignity of everyday care for vulnerable and displaced people around the world
  • Create positive environmental and social impacts through brand purpose programs led by Kenvue’s top brands

Healthy Planet Goals & Commitments

Climate change

  • Reduce absolute Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emissions 42% by 2030, from a 2020 baseline year
  • Suppliers covering ≥67% of emissions from Scope 3 will set Science Based Targets by 2028,
  • Set long-term net zero emission targets, informed by the SBTi Net Zero Standard
  • Use 100% renewable electricity for operations by 2030

Plastics

  • 100%recyclable or refillable packaging by 2025
  • 25% reduction of virgin plastic in packaging by 2025 (versus 2020)
  • 50% reduction of virgin plastic in packaging by 2030 (versus 2020)

Biodiversity, land & forests

  • Kenvue is committed to zero deforestation and to ensuring the paper-based packaging it purchases directly originates from low-risk sources. Specifically, the company aims to achieve 100% certified or verified recycled paper and wood fiber packaging by 2025
  • Maintain 100% Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil certification for the palm-based ingredients it purchases through a combination of RSPO certified physical supply chains and RSPO Book & Claim credits
  • Purchase at least 75% of its volumes from RSPO physical supply chains by 2025 and 100% by 2030

  • 75% of new product development, using eco-design scientific principles, will have an improved environmental performance by 2030

  • Provide greater product transparency, beginning with ingredients
