Hy-Vee is offering several opportunities in February to encourage individuals to keep moving forward with their health goals, including 1,000 free Vitamin D screenings at nearly 60 stores throughout its eight-state region.

Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that helps support strong bones, facilitate normal immune function and aid in the absorption of calcium. The screenings are administered via a simple finger stick. A few weeks after the screening appointment, individuals will be contacted by their local Hy-Vee dietitian to set up an appointment to review their results and discuss steps that can be taken to improve their Vitamin D levels. The follow-up visits can occur in person or via phone or video.

Registration is required and can be made online. Once registered, a local Hy-Vee dietitian will reach out to schedule a screening based on screening availability. Vitamin D screenings are available while supplies last and are provided in a paid partnership with General Mills and Nature’s Way.
