Coram CVS Specialty Home Infusion Services gets Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval

11/14/2018
Coram CVS Specialty Home Infusion Services has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Home Care Accreditation, the company announced Wednesday. By earning this accreditation for the third time, Coram has demonstrated continuous compliance with its performance standards, the company said.

The Joint Commission's home care standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts, home care providers and researchers, as well as industry experts, purchasers and consumers. The standards are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help organizations measure, assess and improve performance.

Coram underwent rigorous onsite surveys to ensure compliance with home care standards, including the provision of care, treatment and services, emergency management, and human resources among other standards. The accreditation process also provided Coram with education and guidance to help staff continue to improve its home infusion care program's performance.

With more than 35 years of experience, Coram includes a clinical team of nurses, dietitians and pharmacists who deliver infusion and nutrition therapies and education and support services to more than 50,000 patients each month, with a range of conditions including immune deficiencies, neurological disorders, digestive diseases and serious infections.

"At Coram, we are pleased to have maintained accreditation by The Joint Commission, the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation, for more than 10 years," Coram vice president Len Shankman said. "Our mission is to provide exceptional infusion and nutrition healthcare services to help patients on their path to better health, and we hold ourselves to the highest standards of quality as we deliver important care to those in communities across the country."
