Thick Head men's hair loss system debuts
A new player in men's hair loss is looking to help men get ahead of hair loss. Atlantic Coast Brands is debuting Thick Head, a new hair growth system for men that features proprietary formulas, Food and Drug Administration-approved regrowth ingredient minoxidil, targeted application, and the expertise from the team of hair care brand Keranique.
According to the American Hair Loss Association, two-thirds of American men will experience some degree of appreciable hair loss, and by the age of 50, approximately 85% of men have significantly thinning hair, the company said.
While many factors can result in hair loss, including age, genetics, hormones, inflammation, illness, medications, nutritional deficiencies, stress and environment, the likely cause is dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, according to the company.
When testosterone is converted into DHT, the DHT binds to the receptor — on/off switch — of the hair follicle and causes the follicle to weaken, shrink and stop producing hair. The company said that the only way to stop certain types of hair loss is to counteract the effects of DHT.
Thick Head utilizes 2X-DHT-Complex, a proprietary blend of known DHT-fighters, and an ingredient that helps reduce DHT on the scalp to attack hair loss.
