Amring launches generic Timoptic in Ocudose

Amring is offering timolol maleate ophthalmic solution, 0.5%, 60 pack of 0.3 ml unit dose vials, which is a generic of Timoptic in Ocudose.

Preservative-free timolol maleate ophthalmic solution is supplied in single-dose vials as a sterile, isotonic, buffered, aqueous solution of timolol maleate and is indicated for the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma.

The medication is used when a patient is sensitive to the preservative in timolol maleate ophthalmic solution, benzalkonium chloride, or when the use of a preservative-free topical medication is advisable, the company said.
