WOONSOCKET, R.I. With the holiday season upon us, CVS/pharmacy once again is promoting its wide array of holiday gifts that are available both in store and online at CVS.com.

"From decorating to gift-giving, many Americans are trying to do more with less this holiday season," stated Tracy Mullin, president and CEO of the National Retail Federation. "Drug stores have done a nice job positioning themselves as a destination for holiday shoppers on a budget."

Added Mike Bloom, SVP merchandising and supply chain for CVS/pharmacy, "Seventy-five percent of the U.S. population lives within three miles of a CVS/pharmacy, so our shoppers are able to skip the long trip to the mall and visit one of our 7,000 convenient locations nationwide to get all their holiday shopping done in one hassle-free stop."

Some of the gift options highlighted by the retailer include digital camcorders; photo gifts; the Prism portable digital LCD 7" TV; gift sets for the spa fan; and Discover Kids products for children like activity laptops, keyboards and electric guitars.

For the four-legged members of the family, CVS/pharmacy is reminding shoppers of its recently launched exclusive line of Pet Central products.

CVS/pharmacy is also urging shoppers to use their ExtraCare card when holiday shopping. The loyalty card program has more than 62 million active cardholders. Participants earn 2% back on nearly every purchase they make, delivered in the form of Extra Bucks. Extra Bucks are paid out online and on the bottom of custom receipts at the beginning of each quarter.
