FDA posts new quarterly list from AERS

8/30/2010

SILVER SPRING, Md. The Food and Drug Administration has posted a new list of drugs from its Adverse Event Reporting System, designed to address potential signals of serious risks and new safety information about drugs on the market.

According to the agency's website, 14 new drugs were flagged from April to June of this year by AERS with identified potential safety issues. The appearance of a drug on this quarterly list, however, does not mean that the FDA has concluded that the drug has the listed risk or a relationship between the drug and the listed risk.

Drugs included on the list were Novartis' Afinitor, Merck's Implanon and Roche's Herceptin.
