Walgreens Boots Alliance is expanding mental health first aid training for more than 27,000 Walgreens pharmacists, and rolling out new services to meet the growing need in communities across Europe and the United Kingdom.
Walgreens Boots Alliance finished its fiscal year strong with growth in both fourth-quarter and full-year earnings per share. Sales for the quarter totaled $34.8 billion, with full-year sales totaling $132.5 billion, both reflecting solid growth.
Walgreens Boots Alliance hopes to use the investment in the specialty pharmacy company as a means of speeding up the development of new healthcare models and creating a platform from which to build partnerships with health systems.
Focused in New York state, the agreement will examine the companies’ goals of developing innovative healthcare delivery models, offerings and services to improve population health and reduce costs via retail health services.
