Rite Aid unveils RediClinic offering

2/4/2015

NEWTON SQUARE, Pa. — Rite Aid heralded the introduction of RediClinic into its Philadelphia marketplace Wednesday morning, adding yet another facet to its contemporary retail healthcare offering.

“It fits exactly with everything we’re doing in the store [in] delivering a great customer experience,” Ken Martindale, Rite Aid president and COO, told Drug Store News. “The patients can count on great care and great service and fantastic attention. I think they’re going to like the experience when they get in – it’s a little bit different from maybe some of the other experiences they’re going to have in urgent care and other clinics.”

Beginning in the Philadelphia and Washington, D.C./Baltimore markets, Rite Aid’s 24 RediClinics will be able to treat patients for more than 30 common medical conditions. RediClinics also provide a broad range of preventive services, including screenings, medical tests, immunizations and basic physical exams; and the company’s Weight Forward weight/lifestyle management program is offered at many RediClinics and licensed to other providers.

Rite Aid will field some 35 RediClinics within Rite Aid stores by year-end. In addition to Philadelphia and D.C./Baltimore, Rite Aid will be expanding RediClinic into the Seattle market by year-end.
