Walgreens opens the doors on Empire State Building flagship store – Part 4

NEW YORK — Walgreens’ new Empire State Building location, opened March 23, includes an enhanced pharmacy designed to encourage greater interaction between pharmacists and patients. The store’s LOOK Boutique beauty section includes an eyebrow bar, beauty advisers, shaping and grooming services and brands not normally found in drug stores. Downstairs, the Upmarket Café has fresh coffee, pastries, doughnuts and bagels, self-serve frozen yogurt, a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine that dispenses 130 varieties of fountain drinks and fresh foods like fruit, salads and sandwiches.

This ain’t your grandma’s candy store

LAS VEGAS — Candy stores are almost inseparably associated with little kids, but one growing international chain is going “too cool for school.” IT’SUGAR operates more than 70 stores around the United States, as well as in Venezuela, Dubai, London and Grand Cayman. And it’s latest store is inside an institution almost inseparably associated with grown-ups: a casino, namely the entrance of The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian. The 5,000-sq-.ft. location is the largest candy store in Las Vegas and includes as its centerpiece a 1,000-sq.ft. shop dedicated exclusively to Wonka candies. In December, the company announced a partnership with Star Avenue Capital, which it said would provide the resources and guidance for a rapid expansion of the brand.
