Scotch Porter enters wellness space with supplements

Scotch Porter is expanding beyond the grooming aisle.

New from the men’s personal care brand is a wellness offering — the Beard, Hair, Skin Immune Support Superfood Supplement.

Each dietary supplement contains such clean enhancement properties as biotin to strengthen hair, plant-based horsetail extract to improve circulation and promote healthy hair follicles, and antibacterial and antiviral skin-boosting properties of Irish moss powder, the company said.

The brand also is rolling out the Beard Health Kit, which contains the supplements, as well as a 1-oz. leave-in beard and hair conditioner spray, and a 1-oz. shape and hold beard balm.

“At the heart of the Scotch Porter brand is our dedication to helping men look, feel and live their best, most fulfilled lives.” founder Calvin Quallis said. “With each year in business, especially within the last year, there’s been a renewed interest in living a healthier, more tranquil lifestyle — specifically amongst Black men who have become more receptive to information and products that aid this journey. Yet, as I observed the landscape, I noticed a huge gap between health outcomes for this market of consumers. There seems to be a lack of focus and intention by the general wellness space to aid the Black wellness experience. As a Black man myself, I have noticed the benefits of holistic wellness practices. Not just losing close to 70 pounds over the last 18 months, but also meditating, consuming whole food powders and shakes, and reciting affirmations to name a few. With this in mind, I am excited to introduce our Superfood Supplement and Beard Health Kit with hopes of moving the needle forward in normalizing internal wellness conversations and practices amongst men of color.”

The Beard Health Kit will be sold exclusively at select Target locations for the suggested retail price of $22.99 for a 30-day supply.
