Shoppers Drug Mart opens new Yonge and Dundas location

7/2/2018
Shoppers Drug Mart officially opened the doors to its new Yonge and Dundas Square location in Toronto over the Canada Day weekend celebrations.

The company’s new space is a reimagining of the location, which was previously occupied by the Hard Rock Café and Friar’s Tavern, and pays tribute to its predecessor’s history and musical roots.

“We are honoured to bring the Yonge Dundas shopper an enhanced shopping experience in the heart of the city while preserving one of Toronto's most beloved landmarks,” Anthony Spina, senior vice president of national operations at Shoppers Drug Mart, said. “Shoppers Drug Mart locations are an integral part of communities across the country. Recognizing the importance of this location to the local community, our team worked to bring all the exceptional conveniences of a modern Shoppers Drug Mart — including digital screens, e-commerce abilities and outstanding pharmacy services — while honouring the building's rich history. We believe we've captured the spirit and vibrancy of the venue, and created a unique shopping experience for Torontonians.”

Key features within the location include the beautyBoutique: Quo Beauty Wall and Indie Beauty selection, a historic tribute to Yonge and Dundas Square, enhanced convivence food offering, pharmacy and a full-service Canada Post postal office.

“When we started construction on the Yonge Dundas location, we knew it was essential to deliver a fresh new look and feel while still meeting the unique needs of the urban shopper,” Chong Bang, senior vice president of merchandising at Shoppers Drug Mart, said. “As a proud member of the Yonge Dundas community, we look forward to continuing to deliver unparalleled health, wellness and beauty expertise all under one roof.”
