CVS Pharmacy's prescription delivery expands to all locations nationwide

CVS Pharmacy is expanding the availability of its prescription delivery to now be available in all of its locations throughout the nation. This news comes after the company piloted the service in New York City and later to Boston, Miami, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco.

Customers who wish to have their medications sent directly to their mailbox can do so by requesting prescription delivery through the Woonsocket, R.I.-based company’s app or by calling their preferred store and requesting the service.

“The national launch of our prescription delivery service, including the expansion of same-day delivery in five new markets, is delivering on our promise to make staying healthy simpler for every patient, regardless of where they live,” Kevin Hourican, president of CVS Pharmacy, said. “Through a fully customized digital experience, shoppers are now able to enjoy the convenience of CVS Pharmacy right at their doorstep. The rollout of delivery from nearly all of our 9,800 retail pharmacy locations nationwide represents another step forward for us in delivering innovative omnichannel solutions that help people on their path to better health.”

This next move has prompted the retailer to be the first national retailer to offer pharmacy and store delivery from 9,800 locations nationwide as quickly as next day, the company said.

In addition to eligible prescriptions, such health and household items carried by CVS Pharmacy as cold and flu remedies, allergy medications, pain relief, first aid, digestive health, vitamins, baby, personal and feminine care products can be added to the delivery orders.

Orders placed by 4 p.m. local time are delivered by 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, orders received by 11 a.m. are delivered by 4 p.m. Further information on the service can be found on CVS’ website.
