Teva launches generic Tracleer
Teva is introducing its generic Tracleer (bosentan tablets). The generic of Actelion's branded drug will be available in in dosage strengths of 62.5 mg and 125 mg.
Bosentan tablets are an endothelin receptor antagonist indicated for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension, or high blood pressure in blood vessels of the lungs, in adults to improve exercise ability and to decrease worsening of the condition.
“The launch of bosentan tablets in the United States is an important addition to Teva’s generics portfolio,” Teva executive vice president and head of North America commercial Brendan O’Grady said. “The exact cause of pulmonary arterial hypertension is unknown with no known cure. We are proud to offer another generic treatment option to patients living with this chronic condition.”
