Dr. Reddy's launches generic Welchol
Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories is introducing colesevelam HCl tablets.
The product, which is the generic version of Daiichi Sankyo’s Welchol (colesevelam HCl) tablets, is indicated to lower both high blood sugar (A1C) and LDL-C or “bad” cholesterol in adults with type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol.
The Welchol brand and generic had a market value of approximately $471 million for the most recent twelve months ending in August 2018, according to IQVIA data.
Dr. Reddy’s colesevelam hydrochloride tablets is available in 625 mg with a 180-count bottle size.
