Raley’s Supermarkets to debut new format in Calif.

BY Gina Acosta

SACRAMENTO — Raley’s Supermarkets is building a new concept in along downtown Sacramento’s R Street arts corridor.

According to the Sacramento Bee, the 11,000-square-foot market will be under the umbrella of the Raley’s brand, but will be operated independently, the company said.

The new concept, dubbed Market 5-ONE-5, is being described as an indoor farmers market and was the brainchild of Raley’s president and CEO Michael Teel. The new store would be much smaller than full-service grocery stores.

The world’s first LED light bulb with dual USB charging is here

BY Gina Acosta

LOS ANGELES — Mega Tiny Corp has unveiled PowerBulb, the world's first LED light bulb that integrates USB charging anywhere in the home, office or hotel.

PowerBulb harnesses the power of the light bulb to charge mobile devices. Simply place PowerBulb into a lamp, turn on the lamp, attach a USB charging cable, and then connect the devices.

"We saw an obvious problem that almost everyone faces: how to get easily accessible charging ports anywhere in our home without a big mess of cables and the hassle of locating an outlet that's never in a convenient place. Our bright idea was tapping into the light bulb!" said Jeff Wilcox, head of product development.

PowerBulb is available now for pre-order on Kickstarter, starting at $29. The company is looking to expand distribution.

Rubbermaid Brilliance is a great product, but not new or innovative. Stor-All "Press N' Click," has been on the market for 2 years, with the features of Brilliance, but a better closure mechanism. As it is patented, Rubbermaid could not use the one touch button, the mechanism in the body of the container, and many other features.
