Emerson’s virtual Industry Day 2021 bringing retail execs, thought leaders together

Slated for Oct. 6, the virtual event will feature a combination of guest speakers and in-house conversations, as well as a live shopper focus group.

The Emerson Group is gearing up to present its annual Industry Day. Slated for Oct. 6, the virtual event will bring together leaders from retailers, innovative brands and groundbreaking speakers to help the industry explore its future and how to grow attendees’ businesses, teams and communities. 

The all-day event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and feature a combination of guest speakers and in-house conversations, as well as a live shopper focus group. Guest speakers include NYU professor Scott Galloway, who will speak about commerce; U.S. Navy Seal Jocko Willink, who will discuss leadership; Nobel laureate Dr. Jennifer Doudna, who will address science trends; and bestselling author Termuende, who will address the changing way of working.

In-house conversation participants will include Walmart’s Julie Barber; Rite Aid’s Heyward Donigan and Jocelyn Konrad; H-E-B’s Paul Gerner and Martin Otto; CVS Pharmacy’s Neela Montgomery; Walgreens’ John Standley; Dollar General’s Todd Vasos; GSK Consumer Healthcare’s Lisa Paley; and CHPA’s Scott Mellville, with more to be announced in the coming weeks. Wendy Liebmann of WSL Strategic Retail will moderate the event’s live shopper focus group. 

Emerson Group is offering two types of registration for the event, which well be hosted on Pando — On Wall and Off Wall. On Wall registrants will be able to be seen on the digital Pando  wall during the event, while Off Wall registrants will be able to observe the event without being seen on the wall.
