Dark & Lovely debuts Protective Styles collection
Dark & Lovely is taking steps in helping consumers wear their protective styles in an easier and enjoyable way.
To do so, the brand is launching its Protective Styles collection, which aims to bring healthier looking hair to all the phases of protective styling — after installation, during style maintenance and the take down.
“Everywhere I look, I see some of the fiercest women with these amazing protective styles,” Kristen Blandon, VP of marketing at SoftSheen-Carson, said. “These styles are meant to protect our coils and tresses, and we know it doesn't always feel that way. That's why we designed carefully formulated solutions just for us, just for our needs. No matter what phase of the style you're in or what style you're wearing, we've got you.”
Products that make up the collection include:
- Tension Tamer, which looks to ease the tension caused by wearing protective styles via a formula infused with peppermint and avocado oil. It provides users with a cooling sensation, helps maintain healthy-looking hair at the scalp and comes in a 4-fl-oz. size;
- Cleansing Water, which is a micellar cleansing formula that cleanses and lathers easily into styles. Featuring aloe, it aims to leave hair feeling moisturized after washing;
- Hair Refresher, which is a dry shampoo that refreshes protective styles and contains a light burst of fragrance. Containing aloe, it does not leave behind residue and can also be used on natural hair; and
- Detangling Cream, which aims to melt away buildup and make hair easier to detangle during the takedown. Featuring avocado and peppermint oils, it also looks to soften and condition hair and can also be used as an everyday detangler.
