CRN webinar to examine pandemic’s impact on supplement clinical research

The Council for Responsible Nutrition is hosting a webinar this week meant to help dietary supplement companies manage clinical trial plans and manage disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The webinar, “COVID-19 and the Impact on Dietary Supplement Clinical Research,” will feature a panel moderated by Annahita Ghassemi, director of global product safety and clinical affairs at Church & Dwight. Panelists include dicentra’s Andrew Gregg, Biofortis’ John Marshall, Nutrasource Pharmaceutical and Neutraceutical Services’ Joshua Bailey, Mars Edge’s Catherine Kwik-Uribe and Luke Huber, CRN’s vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs.

The panel will include a discussion of the COSMOS study, a 22,000-participant trial conducted over five years on cocoa flavanol and multivitamin use and their impact on health outcomes. It also will discuss how researchers pivoted to collect data on these interventions with regard to COVID-19.

The webinar will take place on May 21 at 2 p.m. ET. It is free for CRN members and $149 for non-members. To learn more, click here
