Cup Noodles is going vegetarian with its newest addition.

The Gardena, Calif.-based company, which is part of the Nissin brand portfolio, has unveiled the latest member to join the Very Veggie line — the soy sauce flavor.

Featuring a full serving of vegetables, the product also contains a mix of edamame, carrots, bok choy and green beans, the company said.

“Cup Noodles Very Veggie has seen great success since its debut last year, and introducing a flavor for our vegetarian fans is the perfect next step for Cup Noodles,” Leslie Mohr the vice president of marketing of Nissin Foods USA, said. “We're continuously listening to our growing consumer base and their desire for new flavors, and Cup Noodles Very Veggie soy sauce is the newest innovation for an enjoyable, quick option for consumers’ on-the-go.”

The brand's Very Veggie and other product lines are modified to reduce sodium content, and have removed artificial flavors and added MSG, the company said.

The soy sauce flavor can be found at such retailers as Walmart, Albertsons, Safeway, 7-Elevem, Food Lion, ShopRite, BJ’s Wholesale Club and 99 Cents Only. A store locator also can be found on the company’s website.
