Cherryvale Farms dives into the snack bar game

BY DSN STAFF

Cherryvale Farms is adding to its portfolio of products, but not with another new line of individual mug cake mixes.

The Santa Cruz, Calif.-based company announced that it will launch a new line of whole grain snack bars.

“As a pioneer in plant-based baking, we are continually looking for new and innovative ways to meet the needs of consumers, and Love It! bars are a natural evolution for the brand,” Cherryvale Farms CEO Lindsey Rosenberg said. “We are excited to take this first step outside the baking aisle to offer bars with a delicious fresh-baked taste, so fans of our baking mixes can now enjoy that same experience in a ready-to-eat snack.”

The Love It! collection of snack bars features products that are plant-based and contain real fruit, the company said.

Available in three flavors — banana chocolate, blueberry lemon and cherry vanilla — the products also are Non-GMO Project Verified, egg-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and do not contain artificial colors or flavors.

Cherryvale Farms’ Love It! bars will be available in October at select retailers and on Amazon.

The Battle Creek, Mich.-based company, which is part of the Kellogg’s family, announced the launch of new vegan additions to its Chik’N line of products.

After introducing its vegan barbecue Chik’N nuggets and vegan burgers, the brand decided to expand the line to include buffalo wings, buffalo Chik patties and original patties.

Garden Lites is taking its veggie-rich foods and packaging to new heights.

The Rahway, N.J.-based company unveiled its revamped look, which features its sub-brand name — Veggies Made Great — on the packaging.

“At Garden Lites we are passionate about our brand purpose: make surprisingly delicious veggie-rich foods so people can incorporate more veggies into their diet. This is a great way to strengthen our message,” Andy Reichgut, executive vice president of Garden Lites, said.

In addition to unveiling a new look, the brand also is expanding its portfolio to include frittatas on its breakfast menu.

Featuring such options as egg white spinach frittata and a veggie bacon and potato frittata that’s made with pinto beans, the line joins the brand’s various other breakfast items, which include muffins and veggie cakes.

“This dynamic new Garden Lites packaging is a radical change sure to scream from the frozen food aisle as to why to purchase,” Reichgut said. “We are confident that the brand refresh will drive new consumers to the brand.”

Garden Lite’s products are gluten-free, non-GMP, nut free and contain kosher ingredients. The frittata line can be found at such retailers as Stop & Shop, Giant Landover and select Costco stores.

The brand’s other offerings can be found on the shelves of such locations as Kroger, Meijer, Target, Shop Rite, Publix, Giant, HEB, Ralph’s, Fry’s and Whole Foods Market. Further information on the company’s other products can be found on its website.
