Ben & Jerry’s summer sorbet packs fruity, tart taste

5/30/2019
For the first time in several years, Ben & Jerry’s is diving back into the sorbet game.

The Burlington, Vt.-based company announced the launch of a new tart and refreshing summer flavor — Pucker Upper.

Consisting of raspberry sorbet with an extra tart lemonade swirl and sour sugar bits, the product has a dairy coating around the bits that prevents them from dissolving into the sorbet, the company said.

"After 13 years with the company, I don't think I've ever seen a flavor quite like this," Laura Essaid, a Ben & Jerry's associate brand manager who helped with the new flavor creation process, said. "It's a perfect flavor for summer with a balance of sweet and sour, while light, fruity and refreshing … plus, there's no grill required."

Pucker Upper, part of Ben & Jerry’s limited-batch flavors, contains 110 calories per serving and can be found in pints that retail for $4.89 or at its franchised Scoop Shops.

To find the nearest location carrying the limited-batch flavor, as well as others flavors, Ben & Jerry's recommends visiting the store locator on its website.
