Sir John, Luminess Cosmetics unveil ‘The Lion King’ collection
Celebrity makeup artist, Sir John and Luminess Cosmetics want to take consumers on a journey into the pride lands.
The two unveiled their latest collaboration, a limited-edition collection inspired by Disney’s “The Lion King,” which comes on the heels of the Jon Favreau live action adaption’s release on July 19.
Inspired by Sir John’s love for the imagination and storytelling of the original film, the collection looks to celebrate the new film and bring to life the classic characters in a brand-new way, the companies said.
Featuring highly pigmented formulas with colors curated from the African landscape, the products come together in hand-designed layered packaging that also drew inspiration from such iconic scenes and characters from the film as the rich fruit color Rafiki anoints Simba with.
In addition, the makeup contains new formulas, deep pan powders, finely-milled eyeshadows, and other long wear lip products, the companies said.
Items in the collection include:
- The Kingdom Sculpting Palette, retailing for $42;
- Can’t Wait to be Queen Eyeshadow Palette for $42;
- Be Brave Matte Lipstick, which is available in two shades, and retails for $24;
- Be Prepared Liquid Lipstick, which comes in two shades, and retails for $24;
- Legacy Tinted Balm for $24; and
- Circle of Life Highlighter for $40.
The retail rollout for the “The Lion King” collection products will begin on June 15th on the Luminess website. On June 16, the collection will hit the Shop Disney and Ulta Beauty websites. The full collection will hit physical Ulta Beauty shelves on July 1.
