Scotch Porter expands to include body care line

Scotch Porter is looking to change the way men feel about their personal care.

After unveiling a collection aimed towards those with sensitive skin, the brand has put its new body care collection on full display.

Consisting of three products — body wash, body scrub and body lotion — Scotch Porter’s Mineral Enriched Body Collection is formulated without sulfates and helps moisturize, condition and strengthen skin by providing more elasticity. The lineup includes:

  • The Mineral Enriched Refreshing Body Wash, which comes in an 8-oz. size, contains copper, zinc, iron, silicon and magnesium to condition and strengthen skin. It features notes of greens, herbs, aromatics and a woody base, and is formulated without sulfates;
  • The Mineral Enriched Exfoliating Body Scrub that keeps skin moisturized and soft through a natural bamboo exfoliant. It comes in an 8-oz. size and contains notes of wood, botanicals and an earthy musk; and
  • The Mineral Enriched Hydro Defense Body Lotion, which is designed for normal-to-dry skin types. The fast-absorbing lotion keeps skin moisturized, contains notes of amber intertwined with musk and vanilla, and is available in an 8-oz. size.

All of Scotch Porter’s products are formulated without parabens, silicones, petroleum and mineral oil. They also are free of artificial colors and are safe for color treated hair.

Braun’s epilators make for smarter hair removal

Braun is looking to help consumers remove their unwanted hair in a snap.

Two new tools from the company — Silk-épil 9 SensoSmart and Silk-épil 5 SensoSmart — react and respond to users who are shaving with a light sensor that guides application and ensures the right amount of pressure is applied during the process.

Braun’s SensoSmart technology provides users with guidance through a light signal, removes the shortest of hairs for up to four weeks, and comes with different attachments for customization, the company said.

The Braun Silk-épil 9 SensoSmart is cordless, waterproof, contains a pivoting head that adapts to skin contours, and features such extras as a facial cap and bikini trimmer. It retails for $149.99 and can be found online and in select in-store retailers.

The Braun Silk-épil 5 SensoSmart also is cordless, waterproof and can be used on either dry or wet skin. The tool comes with extras, including massage rollers, a skin contact cap, and shaver and trimmer for sensitive areas. It retails for $79.99.

Kroger dives into men’s grooming via exclusive Bromley’s collection

Kroger is diving head first into the world of men’s grooming.

The retail chain announced that it would be making Bromley’s For Men shaving and grooming products available exclusively in its family of stores, delivery and curbside pickup service.

“Bromley’s For Men offers a complete, customizable grooming experience because Kroger knows it shouldn’t be complicated or expensive,” Robert Clark, senior vice president of merchandising, said. “This new Our Brands product expands our personal care business while simplifying men’s shaving and grooming, as we redefine the customer experience through Restock Kroger.”

The development of the brand was led by Kroger’s Our Brands team, who worked with skin care experts. Featured skin care items include a pre-shave prep exfoliator, charcoal-infused daily cleanser, shave cream, post-shave balm and a daily moisturizing lotion with SPF 15 protection.

In addition to skin care, the line also features razors, which are supported by three interchangeable cartridges — Smooth Operator 7-Blade, Keepin’ it Trimmed 5-Blade and the Single-Stroke 3-Blade.

“Our customers continue to tell us how much they love Our Brands. In 2017, Our Brands achieved its highest-ever unit share and reached $20.9 billion in total sales,” Clark said. “Bromley’s For Men is a collection that’s simple, affordable, and accessible—it will disrupt the men’s shaving and grooming category.”
