Moroccanoil hair masks deposit vibrant color pigments

Moroccanoil is changing up the hair mask game.

Known for its oil-infused products, the brand is adding some major flare to hair masks with its new Color Depositing Masks collection.

The dual-benefit masks deposit pure pigments, while also giving users the treatment benefits of a deep conditioning mask, the company said.

Available in seven curated shades — champagne, platinum, hibiscus, aquamarine, rose gold, Bordeaux and cocoa — each temporary color is designed for all types, and looks to enhance color vibrancy while also giving some wiggle room for experimentation.

"We value our leadership position in care, so with all new launches, we want to be sure we're capitalizing on trends while continuing to reinforce our brand DNA," Moroccanoil co-founder, Carmen Tal said. "We're excited to introduce a collection that stays true to that philosophy, providing equal parts color and care for results with instant gratification."

To use any of the Color Depositing Masks, a generous amount should be applied to clean, towel-dried hair and distributed evenly throughout sectioned hair with a wide-tooth comb. After leaving on the mask for 5 to 7 minutes, it can be rinsed thoroughly.

Packaged in 200 ml tubes that retail for $28 and are made out of 50% post-consumer recycled plastic and 30 ml packets for $7, the Moroccanoil Color Depositing Masks can now be found at Sephora retailers nationwide, the company’s website.

Select national retailers, salons and spas will carry the products beginning in September.
