Yaksitch named VP marketing and merchandising for Albertsons’ Dallas-Fort Worth division

FORT WORTH, Texas Albertsons’ Dallas-Fort Worth division has named Frank Yaksitch as VP marketing and merchandising, effective March 12, according to published reports.

Yaksitch, who has been with Albertsons for more than 35 years, most recently served as SVP of operations for Albertsons Intermountain West division.

During his tenure with Albertsons, Yaksitch has also held a variety of increasingly responsible positions, including store director and district manager.

Whole Foods promotes healthy energy

AUSTIN, Texas Whole Foods announced that as part of its “Be Good to Your Whole Body” campaign in its Whole Body departments, it will focus on healthy energy for the month of March.

Throughout the month, Whole Foods will host in-store lectures and podcasts on such topics as energy boosting herbs, vitamins and minerals, common causes of fatigue and immune system support.

Several resources are available online, www.wholefoodsmarket.com, including an audio podcast on general lifestyle tips for balancing energy by herbalist and botanical researcher Ric Scalzo, founder of Gaia Herbs. A second podcast with Dr. Hyla Cass discusses top natural energy products and supplements, what to look for, including vitamins and herbs, and what to steer clear of when choosing from  the many popular products that promise a boost these days.

Duane Reade rolls out RedPrairie’s Workforce Management user interface

NEW YORK RedPrairie Holding, a productivity solutions provider, has announced that Manhattan-based Duane Reade has rolled out its enhanced Workforce Management user interface at more than 250 stores.

“We feel the feedback and adoption from our managers and users has been excellent, with administration time reduced by as much as 50%,” stated Chuck Newsom, Duane Reade SVP of store operations, referring to RedPrairie’s Site Manager.

According to RedPrairie, Duane Reade had already realized the benefits attributed to the Workforce Management solution, but the chain wanted to find ways to improve productivity for all store-level users. The company believed that the new interface’s action-oriented navigation and extendible framework would improve efficiency in daily workforce management operations, enabling managers to spend more time with customers and associates.
