Whole Foods develops healthy-eating app

AUSTIN, Texas Whole Foods is on a mission to help consumers make healthy lifestyle choices with a new app.

The Whole Foods Market Missions App will help users eat better and live better by allowing users to create their own profile to take on 70 challenges called missions, track the badges they earn from the challenges and share their favorite tips on nutrition, exercise and more via Facebook, Twitter and e-mail.

“At Whole Foods Market, our shoppers often come to us for advice on how to take charge of their health,” said Chad Sarno, global “Health Starts Here” culinary educator for Whole Foods Market. “The Missions App helps iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch users incorporate healthy foods, exercise and more through simple, everyday steps.”

The app is available for download at the Apple iTunes store.

Justin’s chocolate butters now available at Whole Foods

BOULDER, Colo. A brand of organic and all-natural nut butters will roll out its new line of all-natural chocolate flavors in Whole Foods.

Whole Foods now will carry Justin’s chocolate hazelnut butter, chocolate almond butter and chocolate peanut butter in both 16-oz. jars and 1.15-oz. squeeze packs.

“We are honored that Whole Foods Market has chosen our new chocolate flavors to expand its fine selection of organic and all-natural nut butters, nationally,” said Justin Gold, company founder and CEO. “Our customers are getting what they’ve asked for with the release of these new flavors as the first healthy and premium chocolate nut butter spreads on the market.”

Dream Water to roll out in Walmart, Kmart stores

NEW YORK Shortly after its retail rollout in Duane Reade and GNC, Dream Water has formed new retail alliances for expanded distribution.

Walmart now is carrying the 2.5-oz. size Dream Water shot in more than 1,000 of its stores nationwide to start, while Kmart is carrying the same size in its New York, New Jersey and Connecticut stores as part of a phased national rollout.

Dream Water is the first water that helps consumers relax and fall asleep, Dream Products said. The proprietary formula includes a blend of natural ingredients: GABA (to help relax), melatonin (to help induce sleep) and 5-htp tryptophan (to help improve the quality of sleep). The 2.5-oz. Dream Water shot contains zero calories and has no preservatives.
