Walgreens’ Kim Feil inducted into In-Store Marketing Institute Hall of Fame
CHICAGO — Walgreens’ chief marketing officer Kim Feil was inducted into the In-Store Marketing Institute Hall of Fame Thursday morning in Chicago.
Feil was a seasoned consumer packaged goods marketer when she joined Walgreens in fall 2008. As company CEO Greg Wasson recently noted, she propelled Walgreens from being a good advertiser to a world-class marketing organization.
"Wow! Who is that person?" Feil said after being invited to the stage to receive her award at the institute’s annual Shopper Marketing Summit in Chicago. "I want to accept this award on behalf of the merchandising and marketing teams at Walgreens," Feil said. "I work with an amazing group of people."
Other inductees included Joe Radabaugh, director of shopper marketing and insights with Nestlé, and Mark Scott, former VP shopper marketing and business development at Kimberly-Clark.
BornFree’s eco-friendly baby bottles hit retail
NEW YORK — A baby brand has introduced a new line of 100% BPA-free, eco-friendly baby bottles.

Report: Target puts Canadian sales at $6 billion by 2017
NEW YORK — Target expects sales from its upcoming Canadian stores to total more than $6 billion by 2017, Dow Jones reported.
Speaking to Wall Street analysts, CFO Douglas Scovanner said Tuesday that Target expects to have more than 200 stores in Canada within the next five to 10 years, with the stores generating about $6 billion Canadian ($6.27 billion in U.S. dollars based on Tuesday’s exchange rate).
Target’s initial group of stores will open through the chain’s purchase in January of up to 220 leases held by Hudson’s Bay Co.’s Zellers stores.
Scovanner also said the chain expects to double net income over six years with help from its branded 5% RED rewards credit card and the addition of the Canadian stores. The card gives shoppers a 5% discount on every store purchase.
