US Bioservices receives Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation
VALLEY FORGE, Pa. — US Bioservices, the specialty pharmacy of AmerisourceBergen, on Monday announced that it had received the Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation from URAC, a Washington-based healthcare accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the healthcare industry.

As an independent specialty pharmacy licensed in all states, US Bioservices administers specialty medications, educates patients and provides clinical support to help increase patient compliance to prescribed treatments.
FDA approves Mylan hypertension drug
SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a drug for treating high blood pressure made by Mylan, FDA records showed.
The FDA approved Mylan’s metoprolol succinate tablets in the 25-mg, 50-mg, 100-mg and 200-mg strengths.
The drug is a generic version of AstraZeneca’s Toprol-XL.
FDA approves new labeling for ViroPharma’s Vancocin
EXTON, Pa. — ViroPharma has received approval for updated labeling to its antibiotic drug.
The drug maker announced that the Food and Drug Administration approved the "modernization" of labeling for Vancocin (vancomycin hydrochloride) capsules. The new label includes clinical safety and efficacy data for the drug in treatment strains of Clostridium difficile bacteria currency circulating.
"This new label provides physicians a better understanding about how to treat and monitor patients suffering from the serious and often life-threatening infections that require oral Vancocin therapy," ViroPharma president and CEO Vincent Milano said.
