Unilever gears up for summer with new frozen treats
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Unilever is sweetening up its portfolio of frozen treats.
The summer lineup includes the following items:
Magnum has expanded its line of ice cream bars to include mint and mochaccino flavors, as well as Magnum Mini ice cream bars, available in classic and almond flavors. The ice cream bars are available in 3-count multipacks for a suggested retail price of $3.99, while Magnum Mini ice cream bars are sold in 6-count multipacks for a suggested retail price of $5.49;
Popsicle has launched its Yosicle line, which combines ice with nonfat Greek yogurt in Torpedo!, Layerz! and Duos! varieties, which will be sold for a suggested retail price of $3.99. The brand also will roll out Sour Patch Kids ice pops, which will be sold as a single-serve item;
Breyers has expanded its Breyers Blasts! line to include six new flavors: Golden Oreo cookies and cream, Oreo Birthday Blast!, Klondike Krunch, banana split and s’mores. The Breyers line of flavors, which is available in 48-oz. containers, carries a suggested retail price of $3.50 to $4.99.
Klondike has expanded with new Klondike-Choco Taco in chocolate and peanut butter varieties, as well as the Klondike chocolate ice cream sandwich. Klondike ice cream sandwiches are available in six-packs and Choco Taco treats are available in four-packs, all for a suggested retail price of $4.39.
Good Humor has rolled out new candy brand-inspired ice cream bars, including Mounds ice cream bars and York peppermint patty ice cream bars. Both treats come in six-count boxes and are available for a suggested retail price of $4.49.
GoodNites to sport Spider-Man on underwear
DALLAS — Kimberly-Clark has partnered with Marvel Entertainment to bring the latter’s Spider-Man character to GoodNites underwear.
Marking the first use of licensed characters by the GoodNites brand, the underwear for boys will feature graphics of the famed web-crawler for a limited time beginning this month.
"We are thrilled to partner with Marvel to license their iconic characters for GoodNites Underwear," GoodNites senior brand manager Dave Caputo said. "Marvel Super Heroes are unique individuals who overcome challenges. We know how much kids love Spider-Man, and including these character designs on GoodNites Underwear will further help kids and their parents feel more positive and normal while they are coping with bedwetting."
Capri Sun grows up
TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — Capri Sun has introduced a bigger, redesigned version of its original foil pouch.
Available for a limited time, the new Capri Sun big pouch is 11.2 oz. and features a sleek new shape and recloseable cap, and comes in fruit punch, Maui cooler and strawberry kiwi flavors for a suggested retail price of 79 cents per pouch.
As part of the launch, the brand has debuted a stop-motion monster video on its Facebook page.
"This is a significant milestone for Capri Sun. For the first time, our intended consumer may be old enough to engage with us through social platforms like Facebook," Capri Sun brand manager Wilfred de Guzman said. "Capturing the attention of 13- to 15-year-olds isn’t easy; we knew we needed to build an experience for them that was deserving of their attention and passion for the product."
