Unilever to acquire British skin care brand

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J.  — Unilever has inked a deal to acquire British skin care brand Ren Skincare.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close in May 2015, subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Created in 2000 by Antony Buck and Robert Calcraft, Ren is currently sold in 50 countries, predominantly in specialty stores and pharmacies.

It is a brand with an incredibly loyal following, with a unique proposition that no doubt gives it potential for even further growth, especially given that the naturals category is one of the fastest growing in skincare globally. Its premium positioning complements well our existing portfolio,” stated Vasiliki Petrou, Unilever SVP prestige brands.

Dickinson’s Original Daily Refreshingly Clean Cleansing Cloths contain 25 wet cloths per pack with a suggested retail price of $6.99 and can be purchased at Rite Aid, Walgreens, Walmart, Winn-Dixie, Kmart and Duane Reade, among other retailers.

Christie Brinkley’s new skin care line available in March

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Supermodel and actress Christie Brinkley has officially unveiled her new Authentic Skincare Collection.

The Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare Collection addresses multiple signs of aging and contains products that are formulated to help defend against Infrared damage.

Brinkley collaborated with scientists to develop the Bio-Copper Complex, a proprietary anti-aging skin treatment that is infused in Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare products. The Bio-Copper Complex features plant extracts, amino acids and copper to help support your skin’s anti-aging defenses for smoother, firmer, healthier and younger looking skin, the company stated.
