Teva launches generic chemotherapy drug

IRVINE, Calif. — A division of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries has launched a generic chemotherapy drug, the company said.

Teva Health Systems announced the introduction of oxaliplatin injection in the 50-mg and 100-mg strengths.

The drug is a generic version of Sanofi’s Eloxatin, which had sales of $1.7 billion during the 12-month period ended in June, according to IMS Health.

MidWest Gloves expands product lineup

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. — Max Performance is the name of the new work glove from category leader MidWest.

The company announced the new product introduction this week and design enhancements to the Max Performance line illustrate just how far the category of work gloves has progressed.

The new product features a suede leather palm with padded palm patches, a spandex back, fourchette finger design and an elastic wrist, all of which are designed to provide a form-fitting, high performance product.

"These new work gloves are truly exciting," MidWest president Stephen Franke said. "The innovative product features really work together and look great. Our consumer research led the path to this significant trend change in the glove industry. In keeping with our overall product goals, the quality and comfort of these work gloves is excellent."

Report: Hammer Pharmacy becomes part of Health Mart franchise

DES MOINES, Iowa — The oldest operating pharmacy in Iowa — Hammer Pharmacy — has joined McKesson’s franchise group Health Mart Pharmacy, the Des Moines Register reported Tuesday.

Hammer, which is owned by six people, began marketing as a Health Mart pharmacy in February and recently held a ribbon cutting event in celebration, the paper reported.
