Target to hire approximately 200 new team members with Baltimore store opening
MINNEAPOLIS — Target announced plans to open a new store in Baltimore by October 2013. The retail giant has said approximately 200 new team members will be hired for the new location, part of the Canton Crossing Shopping Center on Boston Street.
"Target is pleased to open its third store in the Baltimore community," said Samir Shah, Target’s SVP stores in the Eastern region. "Maryland continues to be a great market for Target, and we are committed to being a good neighbor and developing long-lasting relationships with guests and the Baltimore community."
To date, Target has announced 14 new locations in 2013. The Baltimore East location will be approximately 135,000 sq. ft. and will offer guests the everyday essentials and exclusive brands they have come to expect from Target. In addition, the new store will feature a selection of fresh produce, fresh packaged meats and pre-packaged baked goods to further enhance their customers’ shopping experience.
And, as always, Target looks for ways to interact in their community with partnerships through local organizations. Target will establish a local grant program through the store, contribute to the United Way, and set up a donation to Feeding America, or another approved agency.

Kinney Drugs hosting holiday gift programs
GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. — Kinney Drugs has kicked off the holiday season by hosting two separate gift-giving programs in all of its drug store locations to benefit less fortunate children and seniors.
From now through Dec. 14, Kinney Drugs is collecting new, unwrapped toys for children who may not otherwise receive gifts this year. During the holiday toy drive, toys collected at each store will be distributed to local children by a charitable organization within the store’s own community.
Kinney Drugs will also help brighten the holidays for seniors through its “Be a Santa for a Senior” program. Each Kinney Drugs store is partnering with a local senior care center to develop individual gift suggestions for senior residents. Customers can review the suggestions and purchase gifts for seniors who may not be able to celebrate the holidays with loved ones
