Summer Infant becomes national partner of March of Dimes
WOONSOCKET, R.I. — Summer Infant announced that it has become a national partner of the March of Dimes.
The partnership will be showcased on the packaging of Summer Infant’s SwaddleMe products and marketing outreach platforms, Summer Infant said. Additionally, the company also will be advocate safe sleep practices that support the removal of any loose or dangerous bedding from the crib.
"The fundamental mission of the March of Dimes is to ensure healthy pregnancies and to help all babies reach full term. Summer Infant then takes that cause one step further by providing safe sleeping alternatives for parents," Summer Infant president and CEO Jason Macari said. "It is our hope that the March of Dimes mission for healthy babies can continue long after the baby is brought home. And as a juvenile products manufacturer, providing safe alternatives is only part of what we do. Building awareness and providing information is an integral part of our obligation to our consumers and their children."
Through the Rhode Island chapter of March of Dimes, Summer Infant has raised more than $60,000 since 2006. Summer Infant said that since raising its commitment to the national level, the company will be donating in excess of $200,000 in 2011 and 2012.
Clorox CFO retires
OAKLAND, Calif. — Clorox announced that EVP and CFO Dan Heinrich, who has served as financial chief of the company since 2003, will retire Nov. 16.
In addition to his current role leading all aspects of the finance, business development and investor relations functions and corporate administrative services, during his career with Clorox, Heinrich also oversaw the corporate communications, risk management and IT functions. Heinrich, who joined the company in 2001 and controller, also is a member of the company’s executive committee.
Replacing Heinrich is Steve Robb, VP finance. Effective Nov. 17, Robb will be appointed SVP and CFO and a member of the company’s executive management committee, reporting to Clorox CEO Don Knauss. As CFO, Robb will oversee accounting, reporting, internal controls, treasury, tax and investor relations.
Weight Watchers Smart Ones adds Satisfying Selections
PITTSBURGH — Weight Watchers has expanded its line of Smart Ones mealtime offerings with new meals in a bag.
The new Satisfying Selections line offers 30% bigger portions than traditional tray meals, but tout less than 400 calories. The line includes such Weight Watchers Smart Ones dinnertime dishes as:
Chicken and broccoli alfredo;
Ziti with meatballs and cheese;
Chicken with broccoli and cheese; and
Chicken teriyaki stir fry.
The suggested retail price for the new Satisfying Selections meals is $3.69 per 11.8-oz. bag. Each bagged meal displays the new Weight Watchers PointsPlus values on its packaging, the company noted.
