Steve’s Ice Cream finds delicious home with Taza Chocolate

NEW YORK — Steve’s Ice Cream is taking its flavors to a new level.

The brand, which originated in Sommerville, Mass., has made its way back home and has partnered with Taza Chocolate, an artisan stone-ground chocolate maker, to create some decadent pairings, including ice cream flavors and hot fudge, all made with Taza’s chocolate.

The ice cream brand discussed its "return home" and new parternship on its blog, which can be read here.

Steve’s Ice Cream can be purchased at its namesake stores in New York and at such retailers as Whole Foods Markets.

Twizzlers celebrates summer

HERSHEY, Pa. — Twizzlers has tapped bloggers to tour the nation this summer through August to celebrate the brand’s Landmark Summer promotion.

The bloggers, referred to as the Twizzlers traveling families, will each embark on a road trip adventure, visiting dozens of U.S. landmarks along the way. As part of the Twizzlers Landmark Summer promotion, the candy brand is giving families across the country a chance to win a road trip to a U.S. landmark destination of their choice with four grand-prize winners being selected. Consumers also can enter to win 1-of-more-than-650 daily prizes now through Sept. 4, including such road trip staples as Twizzlers candy-branded GPS units, digital cameras and national park guidebooks.

7UP Retro pays homage to 1970s, 1980s

PLANO, Texas — 7UP is sporting two nostalgic looks designed by “The Celebrity Apprentice” finalists Marlee Matlin and John Rich.

New 7UP Retro celebrates the brand’s heritage by donning two designs similar to past looks last seen in the 1970s and 1980s. An in-store marketing campaign inspired by the decades will support the limited-edition packaging.

The 1970s look for 7UP Retro, designed by Matlin, features a flashy disco-ball can design. Matlin also developed a creative marketing campaign that includes a TV spot with a cameo from 1970s 7UP ad icon Geoffrey Holder, as well as a launch event that will include the Harlem Globetrotters.

Meanwhile, Rich’s 1980s design for 7UP Retro features bold zebra stripes. His creative marketing campaign includes a unique 30-second commercial featuring Dee Snider from Twisted Sister and a 1980s-themed launch event with a special performance by Def Leppard.

“As 7UP has evolved over the years, we’ve always stayed true to our roots as ‘the Uncola,’” Dr Pepper Snapple Group EVP marketing Jim Trebilcock said. “We’re excited to partner with ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ to see what this year’s contestants can bring to a brand that has been a great-tasting part of Americana for more than eight decades.”

The two 7UP Retro designs are available nationwide for a limited time only.
