Snapple, Maroon 5 develop limited-edition flavored tea to benefit Feeding America

PLANO, Texas — A new Snapple flavor is making its way to participating retailers nationwide next month.

Snapple said that its latest limited-edition flavor, Tea Will Be Loved, was developed in partnership with Grammy award-winning pop-rock band Maroon 5 to benefit hunger relief organization Feeding America.

Tea Will Be Loved, which features pomegranate, orange, blackberry, raspberry and hibiscus flavors, also will tout 13 specially marked gold Snapple caps with Real Facts about Maroon 5 and Feeding America. Snapple added that Maroon 5 also contributed to the graphic design of the packaging for the new tea.

“Snapple consistently makes the ‘Best Stuff on Earth’ even better with exceptional flavor combinations and exciting partnerships,” Snapple VP marketing Regan Ebert said. “Tea Will Be Loved will benefit Feeding America and the millions of Americans the organization helps every day.”

Goya celebrates milestone with concert sponsorship, food donation

SECAUCUS, N.J. — Goya is celebrating its 75th anniversary by sponsoring a six-city concert series and will donate 75,000 lbs. of food to local charities.

The charities will be selected by the concert performers, including Marc Anthony, Ana Gabriel and Marco Antonio Solis, Goya said. The donation is part of the Goya Gives campaign, a series of initiatives developed to celebrate Goya’s anniversary in partnership with United Way.

"Giving has always been an integral part of our culture, so as we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we wanted to give back to the communities that have always supported us," Goya Foods president Robert Unanue said. "As we continue our yearlong celebrations we wanted to go out and celebrate in a big way with our fans. This series will be a great party for a great cause."

Dannon announces executive appointments

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Yogurt company Dannon has expanded its senior management team with three executive appointments.

Eric O’Toole, SVP sales at Dannon, was named SVP of the company’s new foodservice and restaurant business unit, where he will be responsible for sales, marketing and operations. Additionally, Luciano Lopez-May, VP sales strategy and planning, was named SVP sales. In this role, Lopez-May is responsible for leading sales strategy and resource allocation, including the development of customer partnerships and new business opportunities. Meanwhile, Sergio Fuster, VP marketing for Danone Mexico, was named SVP marketing at Dannon.

"We see big opportunities for the yogurt category to continue to grow, and we are dedicated to strengthening our company with continued investments in leadership and new business models. Eric, Lucho and Sergio are key to this evolution," Dannon president and CEO Gustavo Valle said.
