Bud Light Lime Ritas adds two flavors

BY Ryan Chavis

ST. LOUIS — The Bud Light Lime Ritas brand will welcome two new flavors, Mang-O-Rita and Raz-Ber-Rita, to its lineup. The new Ritas join the Bud Light Lime Lime-A-Rita, Straw-Ber-Rita and the limited-time seasonal Cran-Brrr-Rita. The brand says it hopes to see continued success with the new additions.

"Lime-A-Rita and Straw-Ber-Rita are two of our most successful innovations to-date. They allowed us to introduce the Bud Light brand into occasions it hadn’t traditionally played in," said Rob McCarthy, VP of Bud Light. "We anticipate Raz-Ber-Rita and Mang-O-Rita to continue extending the brand successfully into the popular margarita space. With four permanent Rita flavors to choose from, and our new convenient mixed pack featuring them all, we’re excited to see consumers experiment and create their own ‘Mix-A-Rita’ combinations."

Mang-O-Rita and Raz-Ber-Rita are available in three pack sizes: 12-pack 8-oz. cans; four-pack 16-oz. cans and 24-oz. individual cans. The Ritas also are available in a Mix-A-Rita 18-pack, which consists of six Lime-A-Ritas, four Straw-Ber-Ritas, four Mang-O-Ritas and four Raz-Ber-Ritas.

Angry Orchard debuts new hard cider variety

BY Ryan Chavis

CINCINNATI — Angry Orchard announced the national release of Angry Orchard Green Apple hard cider. The cider, which will appear on store shelves this week, has the tartness of a green apple and is the first year-round style of Angry Orchard hard cider made with American apples, the company said.

"With its bright, fresh apple aroma and notes of honeydew melon and kiwi, Angry Orchard Green Apple is a refreshing and complex cider balanced by tartness characteristic of green apples," said David Sipes, cider maker for Angry Orchard. "For Green Apple, we explored apples from a few different regions, but we ultimately were inspired by the flavors found in culinary apples grown in Washington State. These apple varietals boast a fresh apple flavor balanced by unmistakable apple tartness, perfect for our Green Apple hard cider."

Angry Orchard Green Apple is available year-round in six-packs for a SRP of $7.99 to $9.99. Other hard ciders made by the company include Angry Orchard Elderflower, available in April 2014, and Angry Orchard Cinnful Apple, a seasonal cider available during the colder months of the year.
