Sara Lee launches mobile site aimed at Hispanic moms

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. Sara Lee has launched a dual-language mobile site that seeks to encourage Hispanic moms to make healthy meal choices.

The "More Choices. Healthier Lives." site (Mas.saralee.com or More.saralee.com) aims to help moms make each day more flavorful, Sara Lee said. The site also features better-for-you Latin-inspired recipes and tips for Hispanic moms and their families to make mealtime more nutritious.

"’Familia’ is the single most important element of the Hispanic culture, and food is a big part of family. Many moms ask me how they can whip up a better-for-you dish that preserves their traditional cuisine without sacrificing flavor," said Ana Garcia, chef and spokeswoman for "More Choices.Healthier Lives." "There is clearly a need among Hispanic moms for convenient, nutritious meal choices. The mobile site offers ideas for hearty snacks and nutritious lunch solutions so that moms can feel good about every meal they prepare for their family."

Ragu to roll out new, more nutritious sauce with classic taste

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. Looking to give moms the taste of the Old Country without sacrificing time, Ragu has developed a new traditional pasta sauce that features two full servings of vegetables in every half cup.

Ragu’s Old World Style traditional pasta sauce will be available in stores by the end of this month, providing moms with another wholesome option for dinner without the guesswork.

Coca-Cola launches Vitaminwater Stur-D

WHITESTONE, N.Y. Coca-Cola has unveiled a new Vitaminwater drink, which is enhanced with vitamin D.

Vitaminwater Stur-D, a blue agave, passion fruit and citrus-flavored blend, is the first enhanced water and juice beverage to include vitamins C and D and calcium, Coca-Cola said.

"This has truly been an exciting year for the Vitaminwater trademark — from the successful launch of Vitaminwater zero to a breakthrough in industry innovation like Vitaminwater Stur-D," said Matt Kahn, SVP brand marketing. "These are true testaments to Vitaminwater’s commitment to meeting consumers’ needs and ever-evolving lifestyles."

Vitaminwater Stur-D will be available on grocery, convenience and drug store shelves for a suggested retail price of $1.49.
