Salonpas releases new Obama parody before State of the Union

HONOLULU — Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical on Monday introduced the latest episode of its FauxObama online ad campaign promoting the company’s Salonpas pain patch products.

Featuring Obama look-alike Sid Milburn, the parody identifies Obama’s leading domestic policy initiative — healing America’s aches and pains through Salonpas.

Nordic Naturals introduces Daily Omega line

WATSONVILLE, Calif. — Nordic Naturals on Tuesday introduced its new Daily Omega brand, a line of three omega-3 products.

"Consumers have a large variety of products to choose from when it comes to omega-3 fatty acids, and this can be quite confusing,” stated Corinna Bellizzi, retail division sales manager for Nordic. “Daily Omega makes this choice easy by offering three concentrated formulas — two for adults and one for children — where only one soft gel is required daily to support optimal health and wellness."

The three new SKUs include Daily Omega with vitamin D3, formulated to complement heart health with 500 mg of the omega-3s EPA and DHA in each lemon-flavored soft gel. There also is Daily DHA, formulated for a healthy brain and mood with 450 mg of DHA in each strawberry-flavored soft gel. And for children, there is Daily Omega Kids, which contains 275 mg of the omega-3s EPA and DHA in each chewable strawberry-flavored soft gel.

Reckitt Benckiser acquires LiceMD brand

PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Reckitt Benckiser on Tuesday announced its purchase of the LiceMD shampoo brand from Combe.

LiceMD is a pesticide-free treatment that helps control lice outbreaks with dimethicone, an effective synthetic lubricant with a well-known safety profile that is odorless, nonirritating and hypoallergenic, the company said.

"There is a dedicated movement toward pesticide-free lice remedies in the market that demonstrates a demand for a product like LiceMD," stated Charles Carol, brand manager of Lanacane, LiceMD and Scalpicin for Reckitt Benckiser. "With the addition of LiceMD to Reckitt Benckiser’s family of brands, we are excited to complement green projects dedicated to the eradication of lice in a responsible way."
