Sabra expands Garden Variety hummus line

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Sabra has added Southwest and Tuscan Herb hummus flavors to its portfolio.

The flavors are part of the brand’s Garden Variety line, the company said. Southwest hummus features corn, black beans and jalapeño peppers, while the Tuscan Herb combines red peppers, tomatoes, carrots and spinach with Sabra’s smooth hummus.

The new products will first appear on shelves in February and will be rolled out nationwide in coming months.

"We are really excited about the new flavors in the Garden line. Initial retail and consumer reaction has been very strong," Sabra chief marketing officer Ken Kunze said. "Consumers love Sabra hummus and look to the brand to bring them a little food adventure. The new flavors are a fresh take on hummus inspired by gardens from around the world. As the market leader, we are looking to take the category to the next level."

Clorox introduces Ingredients Inside app, mobile website

OAKLAND, Calif. — Clorox said it has launched a smartphone application and mobile website that will provide smartphone users access to information about ingredients used in its products.

The company said its Ingredients Inside app and mobile website provide disclosure for on-the-go consumers by offering both content and functionality. The Ingredients Inside app currently is available to iPhone users, while the mobile site is available for all mobile platforms. Ingredients Inside, Clorox said, also outlines the company’s product stewardship principles and practices, providing information on safety processes and guidelines on how the company screens ingredients, including fragrance components for new products.

"Mobile computing is triggering a shift in how consumers access information to make purchasing decisions," Clorox chairman and CEO Don Knauss said. "Our new product ingredient tools will help consumers make informed choices about our products anytime, anywhere."

This spring, Ciao Bella goes Greek

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Gelato and sorbet brand Ciao Bella is rolling out a better-for-you dessert to frozen food aisles this spring.

New Adonia Greek Yogurt will be available in 14-oz. containers, including blueberry, espresso, key lime, mango, peach, raspberry and vanilla varieties, as well as yogurt bars, which will be available in peach and wild blueberry flavors. What’s more, all Adonia products are fat free, will tout less than 130 calories and contain nine grams of protein per serving.

“We are so thrilled to unveil Adonia Greek Frozen Yogurt by Ciao Bella, the brand’s latest offering in our continued mission to create the most delicious and inspired frozen desserts on the market,” Ciao Bella VP sales and marketing Deborah Holt said. “Creamy and truly heavenly, Adonia represents our boldest and most inventive product to date, and we look forward to providing consumers with a truly unique and tangy spin on both the Ciao Bella brand and Greek yogurt craze.”
