Ruffles heats up store shelves with latest addition
PLANO, TX — Ruffles, a brand from PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division, announced that Ruffles Deep Ridged Classic Hot Wing potato chips has joined its product lineup. The introduction of the new chips is part of an ongoing partnership between PepsiCo and restaurant franchise Buffalo Wild Wings, which was announced last December.
Ruffles Deep Ridged Classic Hot Wings chips are now available in two sizes: a 2.5-oz. bag for a suggested retail price of $1.49; and a 7.5-oz. bag for SRP of $4.29. The new Ruffles Buffalo Ranch Dip is also available nationwide in a 15-oz. jar for a SRP of $3.69.
Sunny Delight teams up with SodaStream
CINCINNATI and AIRPORT CITY, Israel — SodaStream, a manufacturer of home beverage carbonation systems, announced that it has entered into an agreement with Sunny Delight Beverages Co., a producer of juice-based drinks. The companies will co-develop flavors like SunnyD Tangy Original Orange and Orange-Strawberry exclusively for the SodaStream system.
"We are excited that consumers will soon be able to enjoy carbonated versions of our SunnyD flavors made at home with the SodaStream system," said Billy Cyr, President and CEO of Sunny Delight. "This partnership highlights our commitment to evolving our business to reflect the changing trends within the beverage industry, providing consumers with new and innovative ways to enjoy SunnyD."
The products are expected to debut in the United States during the second half of 2014. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Edy’s, Dreyer’s introduce new line of frozen bars
OAKLAND, Calif. — Nestlé has announced that its Edy’s Outshine and Dreyer’s Outshine brands will launch a line of frozen fruit and vegetable bars nationally.
Both Dreyer’s Outshine Fruit and Veggie bars and Edy’s Outshine Fruit and Veggie bars will feature five flavors — Blueberry Medley, Tangerine Carrot, Apple and Greens, Peach Mango Medley and Strawberry Rhubarb — and also will come in the form of a 12-count multi-pack featuring Strawberry Rhubarb, Tangerine Carrot and Blueberry Medley. The bars contain 35 to 60 calories each, with at least 25% vegetables from purees and juices.
"We wanted to add a unique twist to our namesake fruit bars with fruit and vegetable combinations in delicious, complementary flavors," said Kerry Hopkins, Outshine brand manager. "By adding vegetables to our recipes in this new line, we have created distinct flavor profiles that are a tasty way to include vegetables in your diet."
Edy’s Outshine Fruit and Veggie bars and Dreyer’s Outshine Fruit and Veggie bars will be available nationwide beginning February 2014 for $4.39 per box, which includes six 2.5-oz. bars. The multi-pack includes twelve 1.5-oz. bars per box, and is priced at $4.39 per box.
