Report: Publix testing smaller-box concept store
ORLANDO, Fla. — Publix is testing a new smaller-box concept — a 20,000-sq.-ft. prototype that would better suit smaller communities — according to a report in the Orlando Business Journal published Wednesday.
"A smaller store would also compete with niche grocers, like Trader Joe’s — which debuts in Central Florida next month — and other smaller specialty stores like Walmart’s Walmart on Campus concept," the report stated.
According to the report, typical Publix grocery stores can range from 40,000 sq. ft. to 60,000 sq. ft.
Interim Target CEO urges consumer confidence
NEW YORK — John Mulligan, the interim CEO of Target, said he wants customers to know they can shop with confidence at Target. Mulligan made his remarks during a TV interview with CNN’s Poppy Harlow (See video below).
Mulligan, CFO of Target, was named as the interim CEO on Monday. He replaced company veteran Gregg Steinhafel, who departed the chain as it deals with the ongoing aftermath of its data breach.
Mulligan made it clear during the interview that even though he is only a temporary chief executive, the company will move forward as it looks for a permanent CEO.
"Interim is not idle," he said.
Beauty brand Paula’s Choice makes retail debut through Pharmaca
SEATTLE — Paula’s Choice has officially landed its first brick-and-mortar retail space at Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy, the company announced Thursday.
"This exciting partnership is another important step in our brand’s growth strategy and the expansion of our distribution to key retailers," stated David Lonczak, CEO of Paula’s Choice. "Our physical presence at Pharmaca raises the visibility of our brand in key markets and, for the first-time, makes our products available to consumers in retail stores."
The Pharmaca assortment will include Paula’s Choice collections Resist, Skin Recovery, Skin Balancing, Clear and Clinical.
